Amazing, amazing!  I cannot rave this place enough! The friendly services along with their tasty, great foods makes this place a 5 star in my book!  I've been here tons of times and have never been disappointed. Each time, I try to order 1 new dish and every time it has been really good. My favorite is their mango curry! You have to try it if you haven't!

I truly recommend Taste of India if you want amazing Indian foods. The owner is super nice too! You'll feel like family there!

This review may cause me to get a few sideways looks from a few readers, however I want the owners to know.
Yes, they give you a free appetizer and sometimes dessert. The naan is HUGE - a big plus for me. The food is pretty darn tasty...
Now the service - some might say they love the amount of attention the staff gives a table. I found it over bearing and a bit intrusive. I was out with a few friends to celebrate a birthday. We hadn't see each other awhile and were having a pretty intimate conversation, but it kept getting interrupted. If the service was subtle and spaced out, there would be five stars up there. Suddenly I felt like I had to hoard my dishes, and hold on to my fork. It was annoying to say the least. Like I said, some people like that. I like good service that allows you to enjoy the people you are eating dinner with.

If I ever go back, I may politely ask for them to leave us be and I will get the attention of the staff if my table needs something. I say tone-it-down on the overbearing service.

This is hands down my favorite Indian restaurant! Every time I come to Reno, I Crave Taste of India. The portions are large and filling, the service is good (you will never have an empty glass of water) and I've never had to wait longer than 10 minutes for a table.

My fiance usually gets the Mango Lassi which is better than any we can find around Michigan.

The Butter chicken is amazing as is the Paneer Palak Masala. Each time we come we order a few different dishes and I have never been disappointed. I love this place so much! We will be back next time we are in town.

Oh man. This place is awesome. The service is crazy at this restaurant. Every single time I've been here, I've been hooked up with a free appetizer and free dessert. The garlic naan is humongous and to die for. It's probably one of my favorite appetizers at any restaurant. I guess my only complaint about Taste of India is that I'm really not into their chicken. I don't know what it is about the chicken, but there's something about it I really don't like. The girlfriend likes it just fine, but I think it's pretty bland. However, the lamb is solid and you honestly don't need meat in any of their main dishes and the sauces are superb. 5 star service, 4 star food, but they're so nice here that you got to round up. Definitely check this place out.

I've tried to go here several times, but there seems to frequently be a wait, and I'm just not patient enough. Recently, I happened to arrive on a slower tonight, so they had plenty of open tables.

My dining partner eats a mostly-vegan diet and I like to share food, so we looked at the vegetarian section and, with the help of the server, settled on two that should contain no dairy

To drink, I had some orange juice. The beer options weren't on the menu, but I was able to walk over to a drink fridge and check out all the options (and their prices). Seems easier than making the servers memorize them all or printing new menus any time their selection changes!

Our two vegan dinner dishes, 2-3 servings of rice, a small beer, and a glass of orange juice came to just under $40. More than I was planning on spending for Indian food, but it was still a very pleasant experience..

This is the best Indian restaurant in Reno, hands down.  You get insanely large portions of everything, which means tasty leftovers the next day!  I have friends who carefully plan their meal to maximize their leftover experience.

Yes, the service can be a little in-your-face.  Like when they wipe down the table while you're still sitting there.  Or add water to your glass that has 3 sips missing.  But better than the completely inattentive service I've gotten at other restaurants.  And every so often (actually more often than not), they'll slip you a free appetizer or dessert that makes the experience that much better.

  • LOVE this place!!

They dont have a buffet every day so I've never been there, but the food here is SO TASTY!!!!! AAAAAAAAAAH!!!!

First of all - order the garlic naan. They're HUGE!! At least twice the size of any other naan I've seen.

Second- Order slightly spicier than you normally do

Third- All the entrees we tried were good. I heartily enjoyed the butter chicken and paneer tikka masala. Mostly it was all an excuse to eat more naan though. They did give us complimentary food as other yelpers said, which was awesome.

The service was really fast (compared to often-excruciatingly slow service at many Indian food places), the water was kept constantly full (which is important with fiery food), the chicken in our butter chicken was cooked perfectly, and actually tasted like chicken, not just random-meat-in-sauce, and the palak chana was just right- not too much ginger.
They kept trying to give us complimentary food, like pakora and rice pudding, which we unfortunately couldn't have on our current diet... the thought was nice though!
Finally, we went at 7pm on a Wednesday and there was no wait.

We got the usual indian food...samosas, tikka masla etc...it was all pretty good. I wish the chicken had a better texture, but my complaints stop there. The service was wonderful. They reseated us (due to heat) without us even asking. The nann was standard in taste, but huge in size! We even got a free dessert:)

My boss always takes me here for lunch and the food and service has always been excellent. I still yet have to be adventurous in trying other dishes but my favorite is the butter chicken. It melts in your mouth.  The spinach and garlic naan is always a nice side, especially with the chutney they give you to dip it in.
